Using Semicircular Sampling to Increase Sea-Wind Retrieval Altitude with a High-Altitude UAV Scatterometer

چکیده

Currently, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used due to their low cost and flexibility. In particular, they in remote sensing as airborne platforms for various instruments. Here, we investigate the capability of a conical scanning radar operated scatterometer mounted on high-altitude UAV perform sea surface wind retrieval based an appropriate geophysical model function (GMF). Increasing maximum altitude method’s applicability is important problem or manned aircraft scatterometers. For this purpose, consider possibility increasing by applying semicircular scheme azimuth normalized cross section (NRCS) sampling instead whole 360° circular scheme. We developed algorithms both NRCS schemes evaluated them using Monte Carlo simulations. The simulations showed that enables twice compared At same time, however, requires approximately three times number integrated samples each sector provide equivalent accuracy. Nonetheless, our results confirm well-suited retrieval, any errors within typical range recovery. obtained can be enhancing existing radars, development new systems.

Selected contribution: High-altitude natives living at sea level acclimatize to high altitude like sea-level natives.

Sea-level (SL) natives acclimatizing to high altitude (HA) increase their acute ventilatory response to hypoxia (AHVR), but HA natives have values for AHVR below those for SL natives at SL (blunting). HA natives who live at SL retain some blunting of AHVR and have more marked blunting to sustained (20-min) hypoxia. This study addressed the question of what happens when HA natives resident at SL...

' Adaptation to High Altitude

Hypoxia is inconsequential for physiologically fit persons below an effective altitude of 2640 metres. At higher altitudes, the adaptation is brought about by four main factors, viz., hyperventilation, increased diffusion of oxygen across alveolar membrane, erythrocythemia and maintenance of body hydration. Carbon dioxide sensitivity is markedly elevated at high altitude, both in sojourners and...

Uav for Mapping —low Altitude Photogrammetric Survey

Two kinds of platform are accepted for mapping UAV system. One is remotely-piloted aircraft. Another is unmanned helium airship. A super-wide-angle camera is constructed by four digital cameras, mounted in different optical axis directions. A high accuracy calibration method is used to make compensation for the deformed errors due to the light and simple constructed mechanical frame. According ...

Return to Activity at Altitude After High-Altitude Illness

CONTEXT Sports and other activities at high altitude are popular, yet they pose the unique risk for high-altitude illness (HAI). Once those who have suffered from a HAI recover, they commonly desire or need to perform the same activity at altitude in the immediate or distant future. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION As based on key text references and peer-reviewed journal articles from a Medline search, ...
